How To Promote Clickbank Products (With Or Without A Website)
In the previous article of this series, I described the 6 steps process for selecting a proven product from the Clickbank marketplace.
Today, I’m going to solve the next question –
How to promote Clickbank products?
Clickbank affiliates use many methods to generate traffic to promote their Clickbank products.
Generally, they fall under the following 2 categories –
- Promoting Clickbank products with a website.
- Promoting Clickbank products without a website.
But, from my experience, the ideal process is to use a mix of both to maximize your chance of profit.

Promote Clickbank Products On Your Website
If people like you, they will listen to you, but if they trust you, they’ll do business with you. -Zig Ziglar
As an affiliate marketer, you are spending your time and money to sell someone else’s products in exchange for a commission. When your commissions are bigger hat your expenses, you make a profit. Or else, you suffer loss.
Even as an affiliate marketer you are running a real business. That is why I recommend that you get a website for your business.
Having a website with –
- Genuine business location,
- About and Contact pages,
- Consistent publishing record and
- Active engagement with audience on your website, Twitter, Facebook page etc.
– shows that you and your business are legit. It helps to build trust among your audience.
If you are a serious affiliate marketer, get your website up and running asap.
You can use any of the following website builders to set up a lost cost website within next 30 minutes (and without much technical knowledge) –
- WordPress – Most popular website builder on the planet. (Read review)
- Wix – Another popular website builder with tons of features. (Read review)
- Solo Build It – Best for solopreneurs. (Read review)
- Simvoly – New kid on the block. But with immense potential. (Read review)

Set Up Your Sales Funnel
Your revenue is as strong as your sales funnel.
I heard these words when I started out as a digital marketing apprentice 4 years ago.
In these 4 years, I have experienced that these words are 100% right. You can make sales without a funnel. But you’ll not get consistent results.
What are sales funnel?
Every customer on your website goes through a full journey. From the time he was just an unknown visitor until he becomes a customer. A sales funnel is a sequence of pages on your website that guides your customer through this journey.
You need to create just 2 pages on your website to set up a most basic sales funnel –
- A squeeze page – To turn a visitor into a lead by capturing his/her email addresses in exchange for a freebie.
- A thank you page – To push the lead towards the next step in the funnel.
Here are 2 examples of great squeeze pages –
And here are 2 examples of really awesome thank you pages –
I’m going to write a detailed article on sales funnels soon. It will describe the process of creating a sales funnel in detail. I also want to add some great examples of sales funnel in it.
If you want to read it and apply the process before everybody else, you can sign up for the guide in advance here.
Find Keywords With The Right Intent And Create Content Around Them
There are four stages in your sales funnel –
- Awareness stage.
- Interest stage.
- Decision stage.
- Action stage.
Or, AIDA in short.
Different people enter your sales funnel at all these 4 different stages.
People who are looking for information, enter the funnel at the Awareness or Interest stage. And people who are looking to actually buy something will enter the funnel at the Desire or Action stages.
People use search terms at these different stages that show the intent behind their search behaviour.
Let me show an example –
Suppose, you know that affiliate marketing is a popular way to make money online.
Now, if you want to learn more, you’ll go to Google and search for something like –
- What is affiliate marketing?
- How to make money with affiliate marketing.
- Best affiliate marketing course etc..
Suppose, you already know about affiliate marketing. And you know that Wealthy Affiliate provides the best training for affiliate marketing.
Then you would probably search Google like this-
- Wealthy Affiliate training review.
- How good is Wealthy Affiliate?
- Wealthy Affiliate price etc..
Please notice the difference in intent between the 2 sets of search keywords.
The first set is information keywords.
These keywords generate leads at stage 1 and 2 of your sales funnel. You need to push them harder to make them your customer.
But the 2nd set is buyer keywords. People searching them have more or less decided about buying. They are just looking for information to confirm their decision. These leads enter the sales funnel at stage 3 and 4.
They are also easy to convert into a customer.
As an affiliate marketer, you have to find keywords for all these 4 stages and create content that fits all stages of your sales funnel.
Now, the next step is –
Create A Lead Magnet That Provides Real Value
How can you turn a random website visitor into a lead?
By giving away something valuable for free.
This freebie is called a lead magnet.
You can use webinars, e-books, online courses etc. as lead magnets. They are all very common and popular lead magnet formats.
Whatever you choose, you must provide real value with your lead magnet. Your leads must think that they have gained something ( for free ) that would have cost them $$$ to get elsewhere. That way they will be psychologically open to accept your offers.
Let me show you 2 examples of great lead magnets –
Build An Email Auto-responder Sequence
Emails are still one of the top channels for engaging with your leads.
In fact, they are second only to cold calling.
But you can not actively send emails to all your leads. That will take days, if not months.
This is where email auto-responders come in. You can create a pre-edited email sequence and set them up to be delivered on specific days-
- Welcome email- immediately after sign up.
- 1st explainer email – after 1 day.
- 2nd explainer email – after 2 days
- etc. etc.
You should carefully craft the email copy so that each one creates anticipation about what the next one might contain.
I use the P-A-S copywriting formula for selling my Clickbank products. P-A-S stands for problem-agitate-solve. There are typically 3-5 emails in my auto-responder sequence –
- The introduction email – Brief intro about myself and discusses the problem that my product solves.
- Agitate email – This email agitates the problem by highlighting how the reader is missing big opportunities by not solving the problem.
- [Optional] 2nd Agitate email – I often send a second agitate email if my offer is a high ticket (more than $500 ) purchase. I include 2-3 real-life case studies in this email.
- Solution email – This is my sales email where I present my offer as a one-click solution to the problem.
- [Optional] Re-marketing email – I send this email to those subscribers who clicked the link in my sales email above but did not purchase. Usually, I include a limited-time discount or some value multiplier ( discussed later ) with this email.
I have used many email auto-responders during my career as a digital marketer –
- Active Campaign.
Currently, I am using EngageBay marketing automation along with SendGrid SMTP email. I found this combination low cost and my emails usually don’t go into the spam folder.
Create Your Sales Page / Use The Clickbank Vendor Sales Page
The offer link in your last email should land on a proven sales page.
I prefer to use the ready-made sales pages that the top Clickbank vendors provide. Just make sure that it has –
- A video about the benefits of your product.
- User testimonials.
- Good clean design.
- Easy to find contact info.
- Clearly mentioned refund rules.
Pick a sales page. Then just include a link to this sales page from the sales email that I discussed above.
Provide A Value Multiplier
After you start promoting Clickbank products, you’ll see that many other affiliate marketers are promoting the same products.
So, how will you differentiate yourself?
Why will people buy from you instead of others?
The answer lies in value.
If you can provide something extra related to your offer that no one else is providing, your customers will think they are getting more value for their money from you instead of others.
You can create a –
- 1:1 training,
- video course,
- case-study ebook
– as the value multiplier and offer is to your customers.
You can create it yourself. Or else, you can hire someone from Freelancer or Odesk to create your value multiplier for you. Then offer this as a BONUS if they buy the product from your link.
Promote Clickbank Products Without A Website
If you want to promote Clickbank products without building a website, then you have the following choices –
Niche Forums That Allow Affiliate Links
Forum signatures are an excellent way to promote affiliate products without being intrusive.
Forums are usually full of a very niche audience. So, you should only promote very niche offers to the members there.
For example, WebHostingTalk is a very active forum on Web and App hosting. If you are a member, you can promote good web hosting affiliate offers there.
Be careful though! Usually, the moderators don’t allow links from a new member.
Patience is the key here.
For the first 2-3 months, just focus on helping other members in the forums. Actively participate in discussions. Provide as much value as possible. You’ll gain followers within the forum and your membership level will also go up from a new member to something like an expert/active member.
Now, you can slip in your Clickbank affiliate links or any other affiliate links indirectly. Like, in your forum signature or as ‘Recommended Products’ in your profile description etc.
Use Influencer Marketing To Promote Your Offers
Influencer marketing has exploded in the past 2-3 years.
It works like this –
Say, I have a Travel channel on Youtube with 100K followers.
And, you’re an affiliate marketer who wants to promote a travel offer. You discover my influence over my followers and approach me.
We make a deal that I’ll promote your offer to my followers and you’d pay you $100 for every $1000 sale.
The key part here is to find out real influencers in your desired niche and convincing them to strike a deal with you.
However, there are tools like Ninja Outreach that make this task easy for you.
Promote Clickbank Products Using Push Notification
Push notifications are a very popular promotion strategy nowadays.
You might get super pissed when you get them.
You still check them before swiping them away. Smart affiliate marketers use this split-second time to push an offer to you.
Some reliable push notification providers are –
- Propeller Ads etc.
Use Social & Native Ads For Your Affiliate Offers
Social media funnels, native ads are a bit different type of content marketing strategy.
Usually, they are used to get visitors to enter your sales funnel. However, you can always use them to directly promote your Clickbank products without a website.
Test all the different social platforms like –
- SnapChat etc.
and see which channel works for you.
Then scale your campaign by increasing your budget or testing different geo-locations etc.
Common types of PPV ads are –
- Display banners
- Pop Unders etc.
Normally people don’t like pop-ups or pop-unders much.
Often they will just read the headline and close the window. So, in order to convert them, you need to ease the process as much as possible.
Here’s the 2 step process that I use –
- Create a FOMO feeling with your headline.
- Use only SOI (single opt-in) offers like – Click to download, Email/PIN submit etc.
Those are the methods to promote Clickbank products with a website and without a website.
